Mary C and The Stellars are one of the most buzzed about rising artists in today’s music. Mary C’s captivating performances continue to electrify and energize crowds everywhere and has drawn the attention of various music media outlets, including MTV, FUSE, AOL Music, MUSIC CHOICE, BRAVO, ELLE MAGAZINE, RACHAEL RAY, NY1, HITS MAGAZINE, ARTIST DIRECT, NEW NOW NEXT, THE HUFFINGTON POST and USA TODAY!

 

Born and raised in New York City, Mary C’s star began to shine bright, with her scene stealing cameo in the John Hughes 80’s cult classic, ‘The Breakfast Club”.

It’s no surprise; the daughter of Jazz recording artist Mercedes Hall and the sister of “Brat Pack” member Anthony Michael Hall, Mary’s artistry was her birthright. Her first performance space as a kid was on the steps of her NYC schoolyard and ever since, she has been writing and performing original material.

Growing up in a house surrounded by artists and music, Mary has found a distinctive way to weave a unique mixture of pop, blues and rock, highlighted by infectious melodies and driven by Mary’s soulful voice.

Today, Mary C and The Stellars can routinely be found at their sold out shows at some of New York City’s most revered venues, Rockwood Music Hall, Mercury Lounge and Joe’s Pub. They have opened up for Grammy Nominated artists Thievery Corporation, Emily King, 311, and Matisyahu and were most recently invited to perform at Rachael Ray’s Feedback Concert at SXSW this year.

May 2013 will mark the release of the highly anticipated EP, “Right on Time”. An eclectic mix of music that typifies Mary C’s distinctive and infectious sound. Their first single off the EP, “Get Me Through” has already been featured on MTV, which caught the eyes of the FUSE network, where they ended up filming a “Live In Studio Performance”.

The 2nd single off Right On Time, “Love Automatic” will be premiered on the BRAVO network in May 2013, along with the making of the video for an upcoming episode on “Million Dollar Listings NY”.

The Stellars represent Mary C’s vision of showcasing the essence of her native city. “The Stellars give you a taste of New York City – individuals with a lot of sass, style and soul”.

 



 

The Stellars feature Jason Wexler (keys & co-producer of ‘Right On Time’), Aaron Belinfanti (drums), Gaku Takanashi (bass), Ms Jackie-O Chasen (alto & bari sax), Marco Coco (trumpet), Dan Rietz (trombone) and Oscar Bautista (guitar).

The Dynamic background vocalist feature “The Sha’Nettes” with lead background vocals provided by Cherette Lewis. “Their natural flare, charisma, character and energy was just made for the stage” says Mary C.
